June Through August They're back, the free wednesday evening concerts on Capitola beach. Pack a picnic or come early and eat alfresco at one of Capitola's bistros. All concerts begin at 6 PM.
The Capitola Begonia Festival is guaranteed to bring out the flower lover in everyone. Each year during the festival, growers donate blooms for the floats as well as business and residential decoration contests. The Begonia Festival is a participation festival spanning two weekends beginning on Labor Day Weekend. There will be a Sand Castle Contest (not limited to the creation of castles), a Fishing Derby, Row Boat Races, and the Nautical Parade where begonia covered barges float downstream to the lagoon at the mouth of Soquel Creek. Rated "Best Festival in Santa Cruz County", this year's Art & Wine Festival will feature up to 170 artists and crafts people. Ten local wineries and the Santa Cruz Brewery will be pouring for your tasting pleasure. Food offerings to please the gods will abound.
